Regular newborn x-ray anatomy of the cervico-occipital transition area

5 months old male baby with severe cervical malposition (right lateral flexion and contralateral rotation), right occipito-parietal flattening and right convex facial scoliosis. On open mouth view right lateral translation of atlas on axis: stair step phenomenon between right lateral mass of atlas and articular surface of axis. This situation is typical for a fixated rotation of atlas on axis.
